In 2011, SBIFF was thrilled to host over 11,000 students, children and families at Field Trip to the Movies, AppleBox Family Films, 10-10-10 Student Competitions and 3rd Weekend. We have heard from many of the families that attend AppleBox films and from the students who attend Field Trip to the Movies that this is the only time they have seen a movie at a movie theater. Something many of us take for granted. 

The Silver Screen Bash is our largest fundraiser for the free children’s education and community outreach programs and is a fun-filled evening featuring:

It is important to keep these free programs available to our community as a way to inspire active and sustained appreciation for the art of filmmaking. In addition, innovative programs such as Field Trip to the Movies and 10-10-10 provide our elementary school teachers the tools to engage their students with creative approaches to learning and increase their effectiveness.
