The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, one of the nation’s premiere
film festivals, is calling for entries for their 26th edition, which will run from January 27 through
February 6, 2011.

The Festival began accepting submissions on July 1 for the following categories: American
Independents, Spanish and Latin American films, International features (including international
independents), Eastern European features, Documentaries, Reel Nature (nature films), East X
West (Asian films), To the Maxxx (extreme sports), short films, as well as a section for Santa
Barbara Filmmakers’ features, documentaries and shorts.

The earlybird deadline for film submissions is August 13, 2010 with a fee of $40 for features and
$30 for shorts. The regular deadline for film submissions is September 24, 2010 with a fee of $50
for features and $40 for shorts. Prices increase for the late deadline of November 5 with a fee of
$75 for features and $50 for shorts; the final drop deadline of December 10 is available for a fee of
$95 for features and $70 for shorts.

Any filmmakers wishing to submit their films for consideration for the 2011 SBIFF should visit

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival, set to run January 27 through February 6, 2011, is a
non-profit organization dedicated to the art of filmmaking, which seeks out and consequently
offers a broad array of international and independent films, with a commitment to diversity.
SBIFF, which attracts more than 70,000 visitors each year, endeavors to enrich the community
both culturally and economically by presenting eleven days of films, tributes and symposiums,
raising consciousness of film as an art form. SBIFF presents quality American and world
independent films, Latin American and Asian sidebars as well as documentary cinema within the
beautiful setting of downtown Santa Barbara, a premier tourist destination. SBIFF continues it
commitment to education through its 10-10-10 Student Filmmaking and Screenwriting
