AppleBox
AppleBox
AppleBox was launched in 2007 by the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and is co-presented by Santa Barbara Children’s Museum. AppleBox is a FREE family film section for children that screens the mornings of the first and second weekends of the Festival and features family-focused films and shorts.
AppleBox provides those families whose income level may not allow them to take their families to a theater access to quality films in a festive, entertaining and supportive environment.
• 24% of guests who attend the Santa Barbara International Film Festival have a household income of <$45K per year.
• Attendance has shown a tenfold increase in the past two years.
The AppleBox series aims to entertain and educate young film lovers. In 2010, AppleBox featured the Oscar® winning 3D animated film UP, with special guest host Oscar® winning director Pete Doctor, and the Spanish language film Carlitos and the Chance of a Lifetime.
