The creative minds behind some of this year’s finest films will share their experiences and anecdotes with audiences as the panel series at the 28th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival continues into the second weekend.

On Saturday, February 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lobero Theatre, SBIFF presents the Movers & Shakers panel which brings together some of today’s most established producers to discuss their current projects and their vision of American cinema within the Hollywood system. Moderated by Los Angeles Times film writer John Horn, this year’s panelists include: Bruce Cohen (Silver Linings Playbook), Debra Hayward (Les Miserables), Dan Janvey (Beasts of the Southern Wild), Kathleen Kennedy (Lincoln), Stacey Sher (Django Unchained), David Womark (Life of Pi).

Following at 2:00 pm, also at the Lobero Theatre, is Creative Forces: Women in the Biz, which spotlights creative decision-makers sharing the challenges and successes they have faced as women in the industry. Moderated by Madelyn Hammond, this year’s panelists include: Allison Abbate (producer, Frankenweenie), Lucy Alibar (writer, Beasts of the Southern Wild), Ava Duvernay (writer/director, Middle of Nowhere), Marissa Paiva (Director of Development, Fox Life of Pi), Katherine Sarafian (producer, Brave) and Pilar Savone (producer, Django Unchained).
