Field Trip to the Movies
Field Trip to the Movies reaches thousands of under privileged elementary students in Santa Barbara County. This educational program - which will include an opportunity for students to explore intriguing facts and new research about the natural world as they view a film - encourages students to engage in discussion and participate in an interactive film-creating experience with industry professionals. Students are not only entertained, but are also introduced to critical thinking skills in their evaluation of film production technology.
The purpose of Field Trip to the Movies is to inspire and excite the curiosity of children about their natural world, while at the same time encouraging them to imagine themselves in the roles as filmmakers and naturalists. The Festival is pleased to bring these experiences to children whose opportunities are limited by the low to moderate income position of their families.
