SBIFF Executive Director, and SBCC Film Studies Professor, Roger Durling will be leading an exclusive 6-week class for 10 adults, teaching an introduction to one of the most powerful cultural and artistic mediums of our time: cinema. The course will focus on the five elements of mise en scène: cinematography, editing, movement, sound, and storytelling. This will be a condensed version of Roger’s SBCC Film 101 class and will include lectures, discussions, and readings, supplemented by the clips of representative films.

The classes will be held at SBIFF’s new education center, The Barbakow Center for Film Studies, in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Appetizers and wine will be served after every session. The cost of this unique seminar is $950 (tax deductible) for 6 sessions and all the proceeds will benefit the Education Center and SBIFF’s Education Programs.

Sign up today for this incredible opportunity to learn about cinema in an intimate and exclusive environment!
