SILVER SCREENINGS

Silver Screenings is presented in partnership with Easy Lift Transportation to provide transit-dependent senior citizens with an educational, entertaining, and social moviegoing experience, at no cost. For many seniors, lack of mobility and transportation that can accommodate their special needs (and self-consciousness about those needs) can prevent them from enjoying activities like going to the movies, but at SBIFF’s monthly Silver Screenings, that’s not an issue: Easy Lift provides the transportation, and SBIFF assists seniors down the red carpet and into their seats, allowing them to take their time. Study guides are provided to stimulate conversation, and concessions are provided, because a movie just isn’t a movie without popcorn.
