Below are the answers to the questions we have been receiving about how the new Riviera Pass will work for the 2025 SBIFF. If you have any more questions, please let us know.
What is the Riviera Theatre?
It is SBIFF’s year-round home which was remodeled to be state of the art in 2017. It truly is the best movie going experience in town. The theatre is located at 2044 Alameda Padre Serra near the El Encanto Hotel. More info at sbiffriviera.com.
What does the Riviera Pass get me?
It will grant the passholder FIRST ADMISSION to ALL films played at the Riviera Theatre during the Film Festival February 4th – 15th, 2025. There will be an expected 55 films playing over this period.
Is anything else needed besides the Riviera Pass?
All you will need is the Riviera Pass to gain admission to the screenings held at the Riviera Theatre.
Is the Pass transferable?
Yes the pass is transferable so if you are not able to attend a specific film/showtime, you can give your pass to a friend to use. Note lost or stolen passes are not replaceable.
How will the first admission work?
There will be multiple lines. One for each: Riviera, Platinum, Cinema, Minipaks, Rush Tickets. The lines will be seated in that order starting 20 minutes before showtime until everyone is admitted or we are full.
If I have a different pass or nothing at all, can I still go to the Riviera?
Platinum and Cinema Passes and MiniPaks will be accepted at the Riviera but AFTER Riviera Passes and only if space is available. State Street Passes will not be accepted. Once all lines are admitted, if space permits, we will sell rush tickets.
Will all the films played at the Riviera be played downtown too?
All 55 films will ALSO play downtown. The Riviera will give a more exclusive setting at the best theatre in town with much smaller crowds.
Can I use the Riviera Pass at downtown SBIFF venues?
The Riviera Pass is not accepted at any other SBIFF venues outside the Riviera Theatre. You will need other passes or tickets to see films and events downtown. The pass will not grant any priority admission to your general admission event tickets or MiniPaks.
Will Concierge Passes be accepted at the Riviera Theatre?
Yes, as the top pass of the festival, Concierge Passholders will receive priority access alongside Riviera Passholders at all screenings at the Riviera Theatre and will have their reserved seating benefits as well.
How will films be chosen to play at the Riviera out of the festival program?
SBIFF will have over 120 feature films plus shorts programs so NOT all films will be able to be seen at the Riviera. Our programming team will select a diverse slate of the best of the festival to have an extra screening at the Riviera.
What does it cost?
The pass is $1,000 and it is 25% OFF for $750 until August 15th. There is a $175 tax-deductible portion when paid at full price.
What will the schedule of films be?
The schedule will include 5 screenings a day with start times expected to be 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm.
When will the films be announced?
The full festival program and schedule will be announced mid January.
